We offer two kinds of lymphatic drainage:
Simply Lymph Drainage and POST-OP Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is very light, manual bodywork used to stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid and help the drainage of lymph nodes. Lymphatic drainage uses a series of specific gentle movements throughout the entire body to act as an external pump to direct lymphatic fluid through the lymph channels and enhance the release of toxins.
While often called "lymphatic drainage massage", lymphatic drainage specifically focuses on the lymph vessels (located in your dermis, right below the skin) while massage focuses on the muscle (located deeper, under the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis).
Anyone can benefit from lymphatic drainage to get your lymphatic system really flowing!
Your lymphatic system maintains the body’s fluid balance, blood circulation, immune mechanisms, and helps eliminate waste from the body. A compromised lymphatic system can lead to tissue swelling, poor skin tone, excess weight, cellulite, headaches, joint pain, fatigue and greater susceptibility to illness. There are also many health conditions that can benefit from lymphatic drainage, such as fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis (talk to your health care provider before booking!). We also offer POST-OP Lymphatic Drainage for anyone who has recently undergone surgery, see FAQ below.
What to expect:
Your therapist will use a series of gliding, compressing, stretching, and cupping motions with light pressure then releasing. These light, rhythmic movements stimulate the lymphatic system without compressing the vessels – allowing lymph fluid to move easily through the tissues and lymph nodes. The goal of the entire process is to "empty" out your lymph nodes. Lymphatic drainage is known to be soothing and relaxing.
To get your lymph system flowing:
book a Simply Lymph Drainage with Rachael D, Irina, Andrea, or Kristina (*Kristina offers head and neck only)
If you have had a procedure/surgery:
book a POST-OP Lymph Drainage with Rachael D or Irina

Lymphatic Drainage FAQ:
Q: Are your therapists specifically trained in lymphatic drainage? |
A: Yes, all of our therapists are licensed by the Massage Licensure Board under the TN Department of Health - all of our therapists who offer lymphatic drainage have completed up to date lymphatic drainage training. |
Q: Who needs POST-OP Lymphatic Drainage and why? |
A: Anyone who has recently undergone surgery and has a doctors approval to receive bodywork. Oftentimes after surgery, your body will swell with excessive edema both at and proximal to the surgical site. This post-operative swelling, while completely normal, can be quite uncomfortable. Lymphatic Drainage will assist in getting your lymph system flowing properly to reduce your swelling and increase your comfort as well as help you receive your best results from surgery. |
Q: How soon after surgery should I book an appointment? |
A: Check with your doctor - many often recommend as early as possible, ideally within the first few day’s post-surgery. The number of appointments you need can also vary and we offer packages to help with the cost! Choose from 30M, 60M, 75M, or 90M options |
Q: I'm in pain, will this hurt? Will I feel sick? |
A: No massage should hurt or make your sick. Even if you are post-op, lymphatic drainage is such a light and relaxing process you should not feel discomfort. Communicate with your therapist during your session on how you're feeling for they can make you are comfortable as possible. After any massage, you can feel sluggish or sore, which is why we always recommend lots of water and take it easy on yourself! |
