Medically informed massage
ALL massage at STM is medical massage because all of our therapists are licensed by the Tennessee Board of Massage Licensure under the Tennessee Department of Health. All of our therapists are educated on working with health conditions, surgeries, injuries, etc. and gear their massage towards therapeutic bodywork.
That being said, we have therapists who are medically informed, meaning they have specific medical training and experience. Medically informed bodywork is outcome-based, designed to strategically target medical conditions. Usually these massages factor into a larger treatment plan that is based on your health and wellness needs.
What to expect:
Your therapist will chat with you to access your medical needs and goals of the massage. This massage may be more clinical and less relaxation, depending on your desired results.
