Cupping

is a massage therapy technique of suction cups against the body. Instead of compressing your muscles, these cups use suction to lift your tissue to the surface and help loosen adhesions and alleviate tensions. In addition, the pulling action of these cups engages the parasympathetic nervous system (AKA your body's rest and digest mode), thus allowing a deep relaxation to move through the body. We offer cupping in two variations: static and dynamic.
Static cupping involves one or more cups placed on specific trigger points aka knots and left alone to allow fluid to be drawn to the area.
Dynamic cupping (also known as slide or glide cupping) involves the rhythmic movement of these cups sliding over targeted muscles.

What to expect:
Your therapist will use oil/lotion with their cups to suction to your fascia and will keep these cups in a steady motion along your muscle fibers, massaging the muscles to help alleviate muscle pain, tension, trauma, and/or injury.
